Nor's Thai friend Kittisak brought us to this raw, grungy two-storey space with an ultra pulsating beat (literally, cos they play the music really loud and mid-meal, a live band took over).
I like the young vibe, the high ceiling and its edgy dungeon interior. You can order homely Thai dishes like chicken wings marinated with lemongrass or you can go out on a limb with stuff like Baramundi Fillet and lobster soup. It's perfect for a first date on the second floor if you don't look like Angelina Jolie cos it can get pretty dark.
Perhaps because of its immense size, and the fact that the staff are not supermodels with mile-long legs, service was a tad s-l-o-w despite a less-than-crowded house on a weekday nite. The dishes we ordered appeared very leisurely, one by one as I watch my nails grow.
HEAP opens from 6 pm to 1 am and is within walking distance from the nearest BTS station - Phaya Thai.
